Mirage

Mirage is a generative composition by Lake Heckaman that pushes the boundaries of computer graphics, reimagining state-of-the-art techniques in innovative and unconventional ways. The work employs physically-based rendering and machine-learning-generated 360-degree images drawn from real-world locations. These elements converge to create mesmerizing landscapes that are both stunningly vivid and impossibly surreal.

By blending hyperreal visuals with the imaginative potential of generative algorithms, Mirage transcends traditional representation, inviting viewers into scenes that feel at once familiar and otherworldly. It challenges the line between reality and simulation, offering a contemplative exploration of how technology reshapes our perception of the physical and digital worlds.
