SYNAPSE

SYNAPSE is an interactive artwork that draws inspiration from bioinformatics, neurotransmitters and plasticity. Like the trillions of connections constantly exchanging information and ingesting to sensory signals, this installation reacts constantly to participants and visualizes the information processing pathways that organize it all into some sensation of what it feels like to be you, or me.

Rendered in real-time and utilizing LiDAR sensors for tactile interactivity, SYNAPSE runs indefinitely without repetition. Over time, it builds a subtle history of interactions and a path-dependent topology, further integrating each participant with the evolving composition.
